God Hungry, Lille
(The 42 year old artist, Subodh Gupta is one of the figureheads of Indian contemporary art. At the heart of his work, we find objects from the everyday life of the artist, as well as the lives of hundreds of millions of Indians.
Here he presents « Hungry God », a monumental cascade of kitchen and eating utensils which will occupy the centre of the church, under the dome. The hungry god and this wave of objects are references to the tsunami which ravaged India in 2004)
